Peter Evans

After studying exhibition design at Birmingham's College of Art in the early 1960s Peter Evans began working as a professional artist, initially concentrating on abstract paintings and constructions. In 1966 he took over the management of Warwick Fine Arts, a well-established Birmingham based company dealing in paintings, etchings and framing, and for the next 18 years he successfully combined the running of this business with maintaining a consistent output of work from his own studio

As the demand for Peter's work steadily increased, he decided to give up his business commitments in order to focus entirely on his painting, in which he was now developing a strong realist style, exhibiting widely throughout the UK and at the Royal Academy. These paintings were inspired by his travels to France, Venice and Morocco.

He was elected a full member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in 1990 and in 1996 he moved to the Dordogne region of France where continues to live and work.
