Brendon Murless

With a background in visual arts and 3D design Brendon specialises in unique sculptures in a variety of materials, and limited editions in a range of resins and bronze.

His work ranges from small 'mantlepiece' pieces to large scale sculptures and is inspired by the human form, exploring the body in different forms and poses. By understanding and utilising the effect of different materials and methods his work blurs the boundaries between traditional techniques and a contemporary approach. Recent work includes his new barrel fired ceramic series 'Moment of Calm' and his ongoing project 'Waiting for the Midnight Fern', which is inspired by the myths that ferns held magic powers and only flowered at midnight on the Summer Solstice.

Each new piece of work begins with an initial idea, but this is open to continual exploration of process and material which ultimately informs and shapes the final piece.

In addition to public and private commissions Brendon's work is shown in galleries and collections throughout the UK and Florida.
